The Sunbelt Directors Meeting will be held in Charleston, SC, July 21 - 23, 2010.  The target audience for this meeting is student health services administrators who are interested in sharing experiences and concerns about college health in an informal setting.  This year's meeting is being sponsored by the Southern College Health Association and co-hosted by Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina. 

Agenda/Call for Topics:  As usual, the focus of the meeting will be on items of current and future interest to college health.  Collective agenda setting and sharing concerns, knowledge and solutions among peers are hallmarks of the Sunbelt Meeting.  Toward this end, participants are asked to identify agenda topics, agree to make presentations or lead discussions.  If you would like to hear from knowledgeable colleagues on a particular subject ask them to step forward.  Please email Natascha Romeo at romeonl@wfu.edu or Cecil Price at price@wfu.edu.

Accommodations:  The meeting will be held at The Mills House located in the heart of downtown Charleston at 115 Meeting Street.  Rooms have been reserved at a special price of $169 per night.  This special rate is guaranteed only until June 21, 2010. 

• Check in time is 3 p.m. or possibly earlier if the room is ready.  Check out is 11:00 a.m.
• Reservations can be made at 800.658.0824.  Tell them you are with the Sunbelt Meeting.  Room reservations and payment are the responsibility of individual attendees.  A deposit of one night's room will be required with your reservation.

Transportation:  Charleston is served by several major airlines.  The airport is located in North Charleston, 12 miles from downtown.  Best bet on transportation from/to the airport is a cab at around $30.

• If you drive, the bad news is that parking in Charleston is tight and expensive...the good news is that once you get the car parked, walking or the use of the "DASH" shuttle bus will meet virtually all of your downtown transportation needs.  The shuttle bus stops at various city locations.  Unlimited ride tickets can be purchased at the Charleston Visitors Center or at most city parking garages
• There is a city owned parking garage beside the Mill House with direct access to the hotel from the garage.
• The Mills House does offer parking but it is a separate charge from your hotel room (they do not own the parking garage).  Valet parking is available with the hotel

Golf Tournament:  The Bob Watson Golf Tournament is Wednesday, July 21 at Wild Dunes.  First tee off (single tee start) is 1:01.  All attendees interested in playing golf, please mark your registration form in the appropriate box and you will be contacted by Jen Swails via email with details of the golf outing prior to your arrival.  Green fees ($70 plus tax) are in addition to regular registration fees.  Individuals are responsible for transportation to and from the course.

Registration:  The registration fee for the 2010 meeting is $90.  Check should be made payable to Southern College Health Association.  Deadline for registration is July 7, 2010.

• Meeting registration will begin Wednesday around 4:00 p.m. in the lobby of The Mills House.
• Reception hosted by Pearce and Pearce Insurance Company will be Wednesday evening at The Mills House.  Time and location will be posted at registration.  Casual attire.
