March 12, 2010 - David Rousmaniere of University of North Carolina-Charlotte has been awarded the Charles F. Bohmann Award for 2010. The award was presented to Mr. Rousmaniere at this year's Southern College Health Association Annual Conference in Columbia, SC.
March 10, 2009 -- Dr. Deborah Beck, director of Student Health Services at the University of South Carolina, has been honored by the Southern College Health Association (SCHA) for outstanding leadership in college health. SCHA presented Beck with the Charles F. Bohmann Award March 5 at the organization's annual conference in Nashville. The award honors college health leaders who have established impressive standards for excellence and service in their field and in SCHA. Beck is the president-elect of SCHA, an organization of professionals who provide health services to the higher education community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health care management and supervision, her master's degree in public affairs and her doctorate in higher education leadership from Western Carolina University. She joined the University of South Carolina in 2006.

The Charles F. Bohmann Award
Named in recognition of a true administrator, this award represents the highest honor of SCHA. Nominees should be outstanding leaders who have established impressive standards for excellence and service both in the field of college health as well as in SCHA. The SCHA Executive Board will select an award recipient and send the recommendation to ACHA. This award will be presented during the SCHA annual meeting in March 2010. Established in 2002, this award recognizes individuals who have been in the field of college health less than three years and demonstrates the potential for significance and sustained leadership important to the mission of ACHA. The SCHA Executive Board will select an award recipient and will be notified after the ACHA Board of Directors meeting in February 2010. The recipient will be announced in the April issue of ACHA Action and the award presented during the ACHA annual meeting in May 2010.
